Happy 7th Birthday Sophie!

Zander had a blast at the tumbling gym for Sophie's birthday party!

Pre-K

Zander's class had Muffins for Mom the week before school got out. All the moms were treated to special beauty treatments such as manicures with highlighters and getting our hair done by our kids. It was cute!

Ocean Beach!

We love Ocean Beach San Diego.





We spent a lot of time on the beach, although it was a little colder than we are used to. When we got to SD we went to Belmont Park to ride the Giant Dipper roller coaster. Doug and I were going to each take a turn riding but the man taking tickets offered to have Zander stand with him while we rode, sweet!

Here's Zan helping rip the tickets, it was the only pic I could catch before the coaster took off. Zander loved the bumper cars, of course. And he rode the boats and the carousel.

While in SD we also visited the Legoland Aquarium. It was neat!

We mostly just lounged on the beach. Zander flew his kit - no work required! Just let out the string and the wind carried it. Zander, Doug and I also played a lot of Frisbee!


Zander was getting pretty good! Lots of playing in the waves and sand. We collected a lot of neat sea shells I'd like to put into some sort of art project eventually.


Doug's sister Dani and her family were visiting her inlaws in SD so we met up with them for dinner at Hodads! We love Hodads and they did too!







We enjoyed our vacation and can't wait to go back!

Children's Museum

We met up with our friends at the Children's Musuem.




We left for lunch and then went back and met one of Zander's classmates from Pre-k! The kids had so much fun together.

Mother's day 2009

We had a great Mother's Day! We went to Tempe Marketplace to see "Monsters vs. Aliens" in 3D. It was really cute!



Zander played at the fountains for a bit.


Then we had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Genghis Grill!

Preschool Musical 3

Zander's preschool had their spring program. This was the third and final time Zander was in a show for the preschool. ::sniffsniff::. Next year is kindergarten!

Zander's class sang a song called "American Me and You!" and they all dressed as different occupations. Zander was a FIREFIGHTER of course!










When his class was done all the other classes came out and they sang "This Land is Your Land" together. So awesome!


I love the programs they do at his school! :-)

Zander's "invented spelling"

Zander was at work with me yesterday and he went to the fridge and decided to make a menu of what I had in there. He asked for help with yogurt which I sounded out the sounds for him and he spelled. Then he didn't want me to see the rest and he spelled on his own. Then he said "Here Mama, I made you a menu!"



I LOVE IT. He did such a good job!

But you can see how he sounded it out in his mind and spelled it. For some reason when he spells/writes on his own he sometimes writes the first letter backwards. He knows his letters and which way they go and when I ask him to spell things he never does this. He only does this when he's writing without my help.
